ModLee TT Club is an active club of 50+ year individuals
in the Sydney suburbs who meet and play table tennis every week.
Sport is for the young. That’s a sentiment expressed far too often. But t should be replaced with – "Sport is for everyone". Great sporting options in your 50s and 60s is Table Tennis.
Compared to Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis is an even better option for 50+. While standard tennis requires a lot of running around, table tennis does not require the same level of athleticism. It can improve your reaction speed and does work up a sweat when played at a fast tempo.
Sadashiv Modali, known as ModLee in TT world in Australia is a State TT champion, coach and referee. Modlee TT Club fondly calls him as GuruJi.
A consistent and committed player of Table Tennis in Australia for more
than 20 years for NSW Veteran’s and Western Sydney (Blacktown Club) and WON 60
to 70 Titles/Awards which includes State Championship matches singles and
doubles and team events. Sadashiv is now an Accredited Coach Level-2 and Level -2 State Umpire for Table Tennis Australia.
ModLee rolling trophy was set up by Sadashiv Modali (ModLee) in the year 2018.
Annual TT Tournment is played among the group of 12 committed TT enthusiasts.
So far four tournments were held starting from 2018 each year except for 2020, the Covid year. Individual medals were also presented to the participants. Played in both single and double formats.
Latest TT tournment was played on 17th Nov 2021 at Annangrove TT Center. Session started with the presentation of ModLee T-Shirts each team member by ModLee. Tournment was fiercely contensted as a result the Trophy is retained by Mr. Krishna Mohan Pillalamarri. Runners up is Mr. Srinivas Surserla for the year 2021.
Modlee Torchbearer Rolling Trophy is set up to be awarded to the individuals to recognise their role and contribution in fostering and furthering the spirit of TT Sport among the team members.
The ModLee Rolling Shiled was set up in the year 2018. It was contensted for each year by the members. Latest match was held in 2023.
Currently the Trophy is held by Mr. Amerandra Shukla.
